The configuration of a service facility is mainly based on its number of servers and the number of stations. If there is only one server in the facility, then it is called a single-channel system and if there is more than one server, then it is called the multichannel system. On the other hand, if the customers get the service at only one station, then the service facility is called a single phase system and if there is more than one station, then it is called a multiphase system (Render, 2018).
